Greetings, my name is Pink Dot. Below is the most recent photo of me I can find:
I write to you on this occasion to inform you of something very important: the concept of change. Life is about change and it occurs in many forms. Sometimes we change jobs and places to live. In my case I took it a step further. I am no longer defined by any human form, but instead I am now a common abstract shape that is presented in any number of ways. I could be a period at the end of a sentence, the cold sore on your face, a star in the sky, the shape of your bumper sticker–I am everywhere.
Why such a drastic change you ask? Well sometimes when one is discontent one has to take a risk. In my case, last year was emotionally sporadic.
, by also have converted into an abstract shape
Let me give you a tour of my new life…
All is calm now. The traffic noise in the distance has diminished as the evening progressed. The city is now my home, and in some ways, a fortress. Risk is everywhere? Gang violence and gunfire to the east of me, a tsunami flood zone to the west. Forest fires rage out of control to the north, and drugs run rampant to the south. I am surrounded by chaos, lust, inferno and I am inhaling cancer-causing particles as I write this.
But life is risk. Safety and happiness don’t always go hand-in-hand. Seattle was a city for the content, the socially established, those who have experienced reciprocated love.
It came down to the end. I was dating a girl that appeared at the last minute. She was similar physically to the one who broke me 7 months earlier. She was cheerful, bubbly, smart, artistic, feisty. She was okay being who she was.
She excited me to the point where I was having second thoughts about leaving. My imagination zapped glimpses of what life with her would be like. These were thoughts not based on any facts but on hopes. My mind was flooding with irrationality and naivety.
Logic finally ensued. Change or die. Change for the sake of greater happiness. Change for love, for
But I chose the lone path and she will be someone else’s joy.
